Tales from a New Mac User

When Gnome meets Mac...sillyness insues...

Update: October 6, 2005

6.10.05
Well I just learned how to use AppleScript a bit. Had to use it to set up Synergy, a very nice KVM switching program. I was really tired of having two keyboards to switch between...and this works great.

Also, just a note, I may be leaving for quite some time in the near future.

Apple Store Grand Opening

25.9.05
I should've been working there. These employees asked us a whole assload of questions...but only one actually asked if we owned Macs. They thought they could teach us things about something we knew nothing about...where in fact...I may have known more about the Mac OS and programs than them.

Friend's New Mac

23.9.05
I helped a friend get his new iBook set up today. Of course, it was I who brought him to the conclusion that he should buy a Mac instead of a PC. Now he's up and running with Panther. And to think I can't even get a job at Apple.

Apple Store

9.9.05
So, I applied at the Apple Store yesterday. It opens at Penn Square Mall on the 24th, and I have heard that interviews were already held. Strangely enough, the listings are still there, and even more were just posted on the first of this month. I hope I get a job there because I REALLY need one...and I want a job that I'd enjoy.

RAM Upgraded

7.9.05
It's amazing what an extra 256 mb of RAM can do for a computer's speed.

No RAM Today and iChat Information

6.9.05
The RAM I ordered did not arrive today, though it should tomorrow. Also, if you'd like to contact me, add me to your iChat/AIM buddy list as osxgnome.

Voice Recognition and Other Updates

I got Speakable Items up and running yesterday and am currently waiting on my expansion RAM. I also got iPhoto and Garageband installed and am still trying to learn how to use them. Man...I wish I had Adobe Audition for Mac.
